Why every download weighs about 100 bytes of honesty

Click the big Download button on any seeded model and you'll get a file that is... suspiciously small. That's deliberate.

The deal

PITF is a demo, and shipping real multi-gigabyte weights would be neither fast nor free. So every seeded file is a small placeholder stub that says exactly what it is:

PITF placeholder weights for pitf-labs/knockout-7b (model.safetensors).
This demo serves small stub files instead of real weights.

The one exception: README.md is always real โ€” it's the actual model card, served as text/markdown.

Why keep downloads at all?

Because the mechanics are the point. Download links, the download counter, file tables, README rendering โ€” all of it works exactly as it would with real weights. When you publish a model, your files are written to storage and served back to you on the spot.

Placeholder weights, real plumbing. ๐ŸฅŠ
